Power Dry was founded by Tim Dodaro, who spent eight years running emergency water-damage restoration before starting this brand. Eight years of 6 a.m. calls, flooded crawlspaces, fire and smoke jobs, and insurance adjusters. That experience is the company — not a logo bought from a franchise, not a script handed to a new hire. When you call Power Dry, you reach someone who has stood in a thousand rooms exactly like yours and already knows the first three moves.
What we believe
We believe the fastest way to limit damage is to get water out and air moving — today, not “when a crew is in your area.” We believe a homeowner in a crisis deserves a straight answer, a real arrival time, and a plan they can understand. And we believe certifications and documentation aren't paperwork for its own sake — they're how your home gets dried correctly and your insurance claim gets paid. Tim holds 7 IICRC certifications covering water damage, structural and commercial drying, fire and smoke, and health and safety.
Why we're different from a national franchise
Call the big national names and you often reach a dispatch center hundreds of miles away. They route your emergency to whichever subcontractor is closest and available, and you may never speak to the same person twice. Power Dry is the opposite by design. We're locally owned and operated out of Crystal Lake, serving McHenry County and Northern Illinois.
